DustyMark's Journey 4 Comments

Tomorrow I’m told they will discharge Mark.

His GI isn’t awesome but as I’ve probably told you in many blogs…its nothing new. As long as there is no danger or damage I feel like we can deal with it at home. I’m convinced the longer you stay in the more they find to mess with and the sicker you get!

His hemoglobin dropped to 6.9 so I’m waiting to hear back from them with the latest draw. If its still low they might transfuse…if it goes up and he stays stable…then he can be discharged tomorrow. I don’t know about the PT session I was going to be able to partake in and I don’t even care anymore. I am just ready to get him out of there! The next day (Tuesday is the Myeolgram (or whatever its called) and CT scan so we have to stay in Ann Arbor but then Tuesday we will come home. I can’t wait to feed him real food and help him feel as best as he can. I’m not excited about home dialysis but I keep telling myself its one way I can help Mark. Its a service. I can do it.

I was able to finish several small projects around the house including shelves, towel holders, staining and decor. I was also able to walk many miles and talk to some good friends. I’ll put all of that on hold and take it up when things get back to “normal”.

It has been a long 2 weeks. There have been many many emotions for Mark and for me and for my kids. This has allowed us some new perspective as well.

I’m feeling super duper tired and still have some things to do so I will try to update you tomorrow but for sure Tuesday night

  1. Praying for safe travels, comfort, continued learning and continuing healing. So glad you get to care for him in person. You both need that so much. Love and more praying. Cindy

  2. Our God is with you both! Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Praying that He continues to carry you both, giving you strength needed for the coming days, bringing peace in your decisions, and for the blood of Jesus to wash over and through Mark wiping away all pain and sickness, bringing complete healing and wholeness to his body once more. Hugs my friends!
